Re: Olympus E-System book by Frank Spath

Hi,

Further to a couple of messages let me try and tell you about the book.

Published around the launch of the E1 - ISBN 392533467x
Amazon Amazon

206 pages - hardback - the book contains details of the development of four thirds and how the e1 works and the technology behind this. Pages 56-121 go through step by step how to use all the camera features. P122-151 illustrates how the pros use the e1 in real life. P152-192 cover accessories such as ec14 / 50 / 50-200 etc in fact all the lenses launched with the e1 and the remainder bores the pants of you explaining how to visit the olympus website.

Full technical details complete with photographs / examples / suggestions on how to use the camera make an interesting read.

That's it in a nutshell. As mentioned i have two copies, one crisp and shrinkwrapped, the other near mint but read. I intend to keep one but if anyone would like to buy the new or near new copy just ask.

The book retails for about 19 but i obtained mine, as probably many of you did, when purchasing the E1 and then the 510. So it cost me zero albeit i wouldn't have got a copy without forking out a shed load of cash on bodies that depreciate faster than the free book.. Offers over zero accepted plus about 2.99 postage unless you want special delivery which is about 5.99. There you go cheap as chips for one lucky person.

Alan

ps how much do you think a e500 in mint condition is worth? as i might stick that up on fleabay soon. Actual fact if i can sell the E1 i might even make enough to buy a canikon ;-)

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know.

I look forward to seeing some of your new pictures in the gallery after you have practised some of those tutorials :-) and don't forget to post a picture of your wet E1 after braving all UK weather conditions just like the picture on page 40.

All the best

Alan
