How to get rid of or amend "OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA" in the metadata?

If anybody knows how it might be possible to stop or amend the automatic filling out of the metadata fields title and caption with OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA that appears on every image uploaded to any website I would be very interested to hear how you do it.

These fields I have to manually change every time I upload my images anywhere and because they are used for SEO I would really love to put something of my own in there.

TIA

Re: How to get rid of or amend "OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA" in the metadata?

As long as you're doing post-processing Capture One allows you to delete various chunks of metadata and also to specify what goes in to each part of it in each processed image, and you can set up presets for this. I assume LR will do the same, as will programmes like Photo Mechanic and I've heard that there are some free utilities that will do it as well.

I don't believe you can do it in camera, but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.

Not used it myself but http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ is regularly suggested for bulk EXIF editing at another forum I frequent.

Thanks for that: always useful to have something recommended that will do that outside of one of the main PP programs if you don't want to shell out for Photo mechanic, or similar.

Haven't used the bulk features but I do use EXIFTOOL.

I've found "Exifer" to be very useful, quick and its FREE

Has a batch feature that works on the IPTC "Description" field where those words are contained.

Thanks. I figured out how to do it in Lightroom. Part of the import dialog allows you to input metadata which includes the caption field. There's quite a bit of other info you can fill in too.
