Indeed I do, I'm just afraid I'll end up 'dinging' it, don't know why … sod's law I guess.

Hi Stephen,

Indeed it is, thank you. If I can get my hands on a very nice 'ever-ready-case' then I will most likely put a film or two through it ….. special occasions for a special camera

Regards, Simon

I've got a user 4T somewhere. Unfortunately it needs a new shutter and I can't be bothered finding out if you can still get replacements. Having put three or four shutters in my original 4 I gave up when the 4T developed the same fault.

I had a 4T and a 4Ti. Identical cameras, just badged differently for European and North American markets.

Yes, mine's a champagne North American OM4T. Having had one of the first OM4 to arrive in the UK I should have known better than buy a 4T.

You probably won't thank me for saying that I had about 10 years trouble-free use out of mine - both of which I bought secondhand!

Re: They say… "Good things come to those who wait"

John, I.think by the time my original OM4 was ten years old it had had four sets of circuit boards, three shutters and a viewfinder assembly. The film advance mechanism and mirror box were probably the only internal parts not replaced at least once.

You wouldn't expect that from a Zenit!

Re: They say… "Good things come to those who wait"

To be honest, all my OM bodies had hard lives but I found the 1 and 2 bodies to be bullet proof. I never understood why I had so many problems with the 4 bodies.

Re: They say… "Good things come to those who wait"

As my title says "Good things …………" and this is the second time in a week.

It is very difficult to find the "2 series" OM screens, many say it is easier to find a hen with teeth. Well I was browsing ( again ) the dealers sites on Monday evening when low and behold while looking at MrCad ( www.mrcad.co.uk ) what did I find? Yes a 2-13 screen.

"Bingo" what luck, but hang-on what about price? These screens sell for crazy money due to their rarity ……. £28.00, what £28.00 surely not, the last one I saw listed was over £120.00 . It must be scratched or something, right? Nope, perfect as new condition, hang-on they have two and an 2-4 "all matte" as well ! All three priced at £28.00 each and all three 'as new'.

Well I know it's greedy but I just had to get all three, after all when I find a suitable 'user' OM4Ti to team up with the pristine one I can pop a 2 series in that too and I now have an 'all matte' for long tele or macro work.

Don't they say things come in three's …… perhaps I should go out and buy a lottery ticket Seriously though, I have been very fortunate with my 'finds' this past week.

BTW, MrCad are great for finding 'oddball' items, they are good for more common things too, always helpful and often very good prices.

Simon

I've a 2-4 in the OM4T. I used plain screen in all my OM bodies.
