A couple of portraits

Hi Folks,
I don't normally do "people shots", but was quite pleased with these pictures of my niece... Emily,

This is a B&W conversion and crop

Great expression, and it seems to show best in Number1.

Re: A couple of portraits

I'm torn between colour and B&W. But why chose when you can have both? Two lovely shots!

Thanks for the nice comments Chevvy, I must admit it was a bit of a job to get her to let me take her picture ,as she hates having her photo taken

I pretend to be faffing with the camera, saying that, then say give us a smile ... click ... say ok that's great ... and then take about 6 RAPID fire and in them. is THE one because they have relaxed and are natural ...

Keep at it, she is a beautiful subject, fab skin and hair and eyes ... cheekbones too ... a great "Muse" for you

Re: A couple of portraits

Your niece is beautiful young girl Phil with a wonderful smile and very photogenic.

Just a tip, try to avoid patches of bright sun falling on the face, if you have to do a portrait in bright summer sun then use it as a rim light and expose for the face. Saying that it is still loverly portrait that I am sure she will love.

I prefer the colour as is but after playing with the original ( I could not resist) it works really well in either.
