Some quick shots from Madrid this evening..

Posted on another forum too... sorry if you're a member there and have seen these.

Nothing fancy, just went for a 30 mins stroll around Madrid and snapped away. Here's some quickies... all handheld on the E-510

Re: Some quick shots from Madrid this evening..

You know, I don't think I have been to Madrid since I was a child Valencia, Bilbao, Barcelona, Benidorm and Mallorca, yes but Madrid not for a long time. It looks very interesting...

Re: Some quick shots from Madrid this evening..

I was in Madrid in March this year, the weekend when they had the big demonstration regarding the release of a Train Bombing terrorist from hospital. Have never seen so many flags, but it was very good natured despite the subject.

Hi

I really like the photos of Madrid, 2 questions

a/ Which lens were you using?
b/ How did you achieve the border effect? I think it adds a nice finish

Cheers

The border finish is easy to do Photoshop using the canvas command. For the white border, expand the canvas side vertically and horizontally by, say, 4 pixels (making a 2 pixel border) in white, and then again using black - say 20 pixels, making a 10 pixel additional border.

Re: Some quick shots from Madrid this evening..

Great shots John. I particularly like the 3rd one with the crazy lights in the foreground. They add a little something over the standard unidirectional light trails you get. Very grand building as well.
All the best,
Phil

Hi

1 - I used the Zuiko 14-54mm f2.8 lens for all these shots...
2 - I placed a tutorial on here for you that illustrates how to add a border to your images. Hope it helps...
