A few Pics my lass took on my E - 500

Hi All,

Susan has asked me to post some pics of hers when she has been using my E500.

She a bit of a legend at Photoshop (being a graphic designer helps I guess)

Anyways here the 2 pics.

Cheers
Garrie & Susan

Hey! I like both of these

The top one has rather interesting colour and the composition is good too. Was this using a tripod? It has a nice ambience.

The second one could be titled 'The disappearing cat' and is an interesting highlight effect. Well done!

Ian

PS Is the Moggie a Maine Coon?

Re: A few Pics my lass took on my E - 500

Hey Ian,

Thanks for the comments, First pic was done on tripod with a ND8 filter to get a slow shutter speed. Susan Tone mapped the pic using the 1 raw file and then imported in photoshop. Layered the sky and use the dodge and burn tool I think, I'll get her to explain in more detail, its all over my head I'm afraid lol.

orignal image is here as an unprocessed raw and just saved as a jpg to make in smaller.

Willow our cat, narr he is just a "normal" cat although he is priceless to us.. He was a rescue Kitten and was found under a tree with his brothers and only sister, we adopted Willow and his sis Fern.

His white far blends well into the white fluted board we set up, however Susan tinkered a bit in Photoshop also.

I'm a sign maker so have lots of fluted board about the place, its great to setup as a back drop although I need to do something with the lighting

How old is your daughter - she could be an inspiration for my 9 and 11 year olds They do take pictures, but are less interested in post processing.

Re: A few Pics my lass took on my E - 500

Nice shots, I really like the way the processing has brought out the flows in the water.

Can't help feeling that the current model for 'processed' images matches closely the style of the great railway posters of the interwar years.

A sort of perfected over realitity.
