Smile Fisheye Filter Lens

Has anyone got one of these cheap fisheye lenses that screw onto the lens via the filter thread ? If so are they any good, or is buying the 8mm the only way to go ?

Re: Fisheye Filter Lens

No experience of filter lenses - though I can't recall anyone saying much good about them

There is also the Peleng 8mm FE - a manual lens from Belarus. Google will give lots of examples and there are normally suppliers on e-bay. You need to use an adaptor for the mount. As the 4/3 sensor is smaller you do not get the vignetting seen on FF. Manual focus is no problem as the dof is so great it's almost impossible not to get focus right.

Thank you very much for the information about the Peleng. While I was looking up information on this I also came across a Zenitar fisheye, are these also worth considering? or is the Peleng much better?

No experience of the Zenitar - but as a 16mm FE it isn't going to be especially wide on 4/3 - particularly as its FF.

Thank you once again for your help, it is most kind. I think I will go with your recommendation of the Peleng.

E-3, whereabouts in the country are you?
If it's anywhere near Sheffield, I've a Peleng (not for sale ) you could have a look at before committing yourself.

Re: Fisheye Filter Lens

Sorry not for sale, this thread had reminded my that I must get it out of hibernation for another play.
FYI mine came off ebay a couple of years ago for 117 second hand with an M42 mount on it.
