reading from both cards

I've been searching for the way to record on either memory card on the e420, to copy between them and to download from either of them.
Any ideas ?

Re: reading from both cards

Not sure about copying from one to the other but with both cards fitted you should be able to access them from one of the menu options. Once selected, xd or CF, the transfer to a PC should take place via the Olympus software.

Once connected to the PC and the software is up and running you need to select 'STORAGE' so the camera and software can talk to each other. Without this being selected, the software can't detect the camera.

Re: reading from both cards

Found it! After digging on internet, it seems you go to Custom 2 menu (it looks like a spanner) and there's the selection between the cards
Thanks to all.!

You can quickly change the card selection in the Super Control Panel by using the 4 way arrow keys to highlight the box, press enter (or use the wheel?) & change with arrow keys or thumbwheel.

Make sure the Compact Flash card is a fast enough one & not a cheapy & only use the XD card for emergencies (or panorama etc) as it is rather slow to write to (& read from). In playback mode, it is also possible to copy from one card to the other. Whichever card is being viewed (when selected in the SCP or menu), is the card that will be copied.
