A review from 2017: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/yi-m1/7

Interestingly the YI M1 has the 20M pixel Sony sensor. We might see further developments from this company.

Re: Yi

Kai gave his away

It sounds like it may have improved a bit with recent firmware?

$350 20MP 4K Mirrorless Camera - YouTube

I can't see any reason I would go for this but I guess another manufacturer isn't a bad thing.

Re: Yi

So, a £200 Camera with the best Four Thirds sensor available, while Panasonic and Olympus restrict this to their high end models. But I didn’t click Buy... What I value in a camera changes/evolves and what I’ve learned recently is that some cameras are more trustworthy than others.

Re: Yi

£200 with a lens too
It’s quite hard to see how that’s possible but the reported shortcomings of the user interface and focus suggest the kit of parts isn’t the only thing a manufacturer needs to invest in.
It’s interesting none the less.

Re: Yi

Apparently it's pretty good with the latest firmware. A bargain at £199 including a (rather slow) 12-40 kit lens.

Re: Yi

I use one of their 4K action cameras (Yi Plus 4K) and it's very good.

They showed their first Micro Four Thirds camera at Photokina in 2016.

Re: Yi

It arrived this morning!
£219 with the kit zoom and the 43mm,
but it is dark so hardly any testing.
It took me a while to find out how to even change the menu to English
so I could format a card in-camera.
Early impressions on IQ : very "sony/fuji" with good high-ISO and too much NR, good detail in the dark though, pleasantly surprised.

If Ulfric doesn’t like it he should be able to sell on eBay for a handsome profit
