Gig photos with my XZ-1

I took these photos at a Muse gig on Thursday night at Manchester arena with my Olympus XZ-1 compact mostly using shutter priority mode. I am rather pleased myself. We had rear view seats which I was not looking forward to btw. I was amazed how good the rear view was but having seen Muse before not that surprised really.

These are mostly Jpegs straight from the camera

Re: Gig photos with my XZ-1

Those are fabulous Alf really shows the atmosphere of the gig. You and the little XZ-1 did very well. I especially like no3 with blown highlights and all just because it shows a view that is not often captured.
Thanks for posting these.

Re: Gig photos with my XZ-1

Those seats were actually rather good! You got some great shots and the XZ-1 aquitted itself very well.

Re: Gig photos with my XZ-1

I am very happy with the XZ-1 for its price and size.

I was very pleased with 3 as a fan No5 is my favourite as it shows Matt Bellamy at his best. No4 is the only one processed from RAW.

Re: Gig photos with my XZ-1

These are very interesting - I've recently replaced my old Samsung S850 with a XZ-1. I haven't done much with it at present but this makes me want to get out there. Thanks for posting them.

Re: Gig photos with my XZ-1

Nice collection, Alf. I like the one of the spotlights on the crowd, despite it not showing much of the band - gives a good feel for the atmosphere and the sheer scale of a big gig.

Ciao ... John
