Re: 14-150

From the posted images it is clearly the mk1 and not the mk 2 as per the Amazon link. That no doubt explains the attractive price.

Hi Scott, As Kenny said it is the MK1 not the MK11 as on the amazon link.
hence the price, still a great walk around lens

Being lazy, could you let me know the difference in performance?
Thanks

Re: 14-150

I don't have either but my reading produces conflicting information. Somewhere I read that optically both lenses are the same except for some clever coating on the newer lens, but another report says optically the newer version has simpler optics, so who knows. Some claim the older lens is marginally sharper. But one certain change is that the newer lens is damp and dust proof and stylisically is a better match with other current Oly lenses.
But I bought the cheaper 14-150mm by Tamron and with some reservations I am happy with it. It seems that all these super zooms are not spectacular, just good enough IQ, so why worry. If you wanted super IQ you would not be thinking of any of these. I find my recently aquired Oly 9-18 (love it) plus my Tamron 14-150 covers most of my day to day snapping.

Re: 14-150

I don't think there is any optical difference, just an updated lens coating and cosmetic (styling) difference.

It's a very versatile lens but not quite as stellar in performance as the older Four Thirds Panasonic Leica 40-150, though that's a considerably larger lens.

Re: 14-150

Ian did you meant the 4/3s Pan Leica 14-150. If so I'd agree with you.
As an aside I wonder how well the Pan-Leica works with the EM1 mk2? Hmm might take it to the NEC tomorrow to find out.
kherb sorry to add to your thread, lenses like the one you are selling are great workhorse everyday travel kit. I use a similar one 90% of the time and the quality is excellent. Yours sounds like a good deal to me so have a bump on me. Good luck with the sale.
