It's OK the camera is waterproof!

I was feeling quite smug when as walking along the Derwent reservoir it started to rain. First time I've actually thought oh well at least the camera is waterproof. So I put my waterproof trousers on and carried on for a bit. Shame my little brain must have got water in it too.

Camera was fine I just forgot to wipe the lens! doh

Ha ha, no worries, the raindrops add to the story. Nice photo despite...

Here's one I almost got away with. It shows the remnants of the Ouzelden Bridge revealed by the low water levels at the moment. There are several nice images on Google of the bridge before it was flooded when the Derwent Dams were being built. Howden Dam is in the mist and rain in the background in my shot.

Yes, as Mark says, rain on lens adds to the story. You may recall my recent thread that featured a deliberately wet pictures. I was just checking to see if the weather sealing claim was true! (like jumping off a cliff to prove gravity exists!)

The water drops give some context to the flat and otherwise boring sky. Keep it.

Re: It's OK the camera is waterproof!

The main reason I’d like to upgrade my em10ii is for weather sealing, I have risked it in very light showers, but would be more comfortable with a sealed body for sure!
The old bridge remains are cool, and make an interesting shot when partially submerged.
I used to love that dead tree in the foreground, it’s such a shame it’s lost its two uprights this summer, I wonder if that was natural or vandalism? The shot I entered in the April challenge, Seasonal Colours, was taken here and wouldnt work half as well now, with the tree now a third of its height

Re: It's OK the camera is waterproof!

I'll have to go back when there is more water and have a look Chris. Thanks for the tip. Actually its also thanks to two ladies who stopped in their car and told me the bridge was there. If not for them i'd have turned round and gone back. I was actually quite suprised how many cars passed me as i walked as i thought the road was closed to cars!?

It’s only closed at weekends I think, perhaps even only Sunday, except for disabled badge holders.
