Pistol Reflex Sight instead of Oly EE-1 Dot Sight...Advise please.

The Oly EE-1 Dot Sight is not available yet here in the UK and when it is it's likely to cost £99.

I have read that Reflex Sights for pistols can be used in place of the EE-1 and they cost a fraction of the price.

Amazon have an extensive list of available sights , It's a minefield.
Which one would be suitable for adaption to fit the flash shoe of E-M1 fitted with a 75-300 lens.
I am capable of doing the adaption myself.

How would one mount it to the camera's hot shoe.

Paul can you give some comments on use and worth with a large lens for wildlife? I have been looking at these and have wondered how well they work for photographic uses. Where are you based and what was the postage costs?

There was a flurry of interest in these a few years ago on another site I used to frequent. Then people were even using them on P&S cameras to do BiFs with some success. I've always been curious but never tried one myself. I too would be interested in some user info.

I have ordered
CVLIFE 11mm Tactical 1x22x33 Air Rifle Multi Reticle 4 Red & Green Dot Laser Sight Scope: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors CVLIFE 11mm Tactical 1x22x33 Air Rifle Multi Reticle 4 Red & Green Dot Laser Sight Scope: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

Interesting site.......
http://australianimage.com.au/wordpr...ting-wildlife/

After MUCH thought I'm coming to the conclusion that positioning is not too critical, as long as the axis of both lens and sight are in line.

If one looks at the Oly sight.. http://www.olympus.co.uk/site/en/c/c...e_1/index.html
It has, what looks to be a standard flash mounting to retain it.

I have a couple of old flash guns and I'm sure the mounting foot of one could be put to good use.

Many thanks for that but I do not have an ebay account.

It's achademic now because I have started to modify the hot shoe mount from an old, never to be used again, flash gun.
I'm trying to source a suitable rail material from my material store that I call a garage Itmust be the stiffest/lightest possible.
It's all great fun DIY photography, much better than buying the kit IMHO

All in all, it will have cost me £17 + one old flash gun.

OH...And given me hours of enjoyment.
