Next door neighbours lawn mower

Nice and calm....

Just getting the cutting blade

Last check before mowing

...and off we go

Mind my hedge!

Just nipped off to another garden

Watch out behind!

Re: Next door neighbours lawn mower

The farmer wanted a photo for his office wall and I think 12 and 13 filled the brief....

Great photos, but I thought you were going to show us something on four legs.

That's some serious mowing nicely shot. Second and third from the end are my favourites.

Re: Next door neighbours lawn mower

In pics 7, 8, 9 etc a strip of uncut crop is left and it appears to be left to be trampled by the grain collecting vehicle.
Why the uncut strip??

Thanks for ay info

That's the cut straw having been discharged from the back of the harvester...

That's my garden to the right of the photo!

Edit:

Oh, and they're deliberately not driving on it as they've sold it for use in stables so will be baled and collected by contractors today sometime...

My lawn’s dead.... but that thing wouldn’t fit up the road never mind into my garden, unless he took a short cut through my hedge!

Re: Next door neighbours lawn mower

Young lad who looked twelve arrive with a massive tractor and baler... took him nearly ten minutes to whip around the field!

Hopefully the strips of cut straw now make more sense?

Re: Next door neighbours lawn mower

Real nice quality set of photos Walti. Very clear and sharp. Nice to see a mundane task so well displayed. No wonder Mr farmer wanted a couple for his wall...……..

I've done an animation of this as it's fascinating... Just need to put it somewhere so it can be viewed - it's too big for the gallery.
