I was going to ask if anyone else was having problems

The key is to place the cursor to the right of the last zero and then enter the numbers in order. So let's say you want to enter £1, you need to enter 1 0 0 (the zeros for the pence are required). For £10 enter 1 0 0 0. You will see that the amount fills from the right with the decimal point staying in the same place.

I see that there have been complaints about this on PayPal discussions for years

The other thing to check is that your web browser supports the latest encryption standards - go to this link for a message that will tell you if your browser is compliant:

https://tlstest.paypal.com/

If it isn't you may need to update your browser or use a different, more up to date one.

Did all that and the amount looked correct on the screen. I am now downright worried in trusting a card number to that link - sorry

Re: The reality is that the e-group needs your help

If you are going to attract more members you have got to clean up your act ..You cannot even ask a question about a 15mm lens without getting poked in the eye. More tolerance of others views. One sarcastic comment brings another in return.
If you want to see how gentlemen and women behave then look at Nikon Gear (from Sweden) or Nikon Rumors… The biggest site in the world "Boat Design .net" has one moderator never seen or heard

Re: The reality is that the e-group needs your help

To be honest I think that is something of an exaggeration Pistnbroke. In my experience this forum is very well behaved and views are usually exchanged in good humour. Sarcastic responses are not the norm as far as I am aware. Misunderstandings are common on any form of social media just by the fact that they are exchanges of simple typed texts and it is the way they are sorted out that shows the character of the place and the members. This place may not be perfect but it's way way better than most others on the net.

I agree Phil Nikonites and Nikonians are hell holes of clique driven aggression. My experience here would not drive me to spend money until I see the changes the administration implements

Fare enough perspective. Maybe worth sharing your thoughts privately with Ian.

I was a regular at the time and still occasional user of nikonites and my first and last comment on this post will be, treat others as you hope to be treated. with that in mind your treatment may have been better.

I don't recognise this in the e-group. The vast majority of the time it's very peaceful and amiable here. We have had our moments but they eventually get sorted. Moderation here is very light-touch.

Can you PM with the amount you would like to donate and an email address and I can generate a payment request from PayPal?

Sorry for all the bother!

On the contrary, I think we treat you with remarkable tolerance considering some of the arrogant and contentious comments you make. But that is your style, isn't it? Someone recently sent me a link to your first post as a new member on a photography forum about four years ago, in which you confessed to having been banned by Nikonites and Nikonians and wondered how long it would take to get banned on the site you had just joined. In the past you have explained your reluctance to provide a link to your own site on the basis that some malicious members of another site had caused problems for you. Now, why would they want to do that?

We do things differently here and prefer to ban people only as a last resort. I consider the membership to be mature and tolerant enough to cope with exposure to such behaviour, although you should not be surprised when they bite back! We do need to grow the site and attract new members and I believe part of that is providing a platform for all viewpoints and allowing a little controversy so long as it doesn't get out of hand.

We're now into the forties The initial rush has slowed, naturally, but we're still receiving donations. I have written to everyone who has donated; if you haven't received my thank you email, please let me know.

If you want to donate, but are having technical difficulties, please get in touch.

What amount are you referring to ?

Ian has previously stated it costs approx. £200 per month to fund the forum running costs but as far as I'm aware no details of the amount received to date has been mentioned. Ian's comment "We're now into the forties" refers to the number of donations received.
