"Sunday Afternoon in the Garden"

That is what it was. No birds to photograph & no inclination to go somewhere else, I saw these subjects as interesting, so I hope you do too.

All taken with E-M1 II & 40-150+MC14.
BTW, the f10 was just an oversight, but...... it seems like it worked OK.

Is number 4 a Banksia?

(Strange plants - I find the seed capsules a bit creepy!)

Thank you to you both. It is one of the larger growing 'grass trees' where this one is still relatively young without any trunk & hasn't put up a flower spike yet (previously referred to as a 'black boy'). This is about 1 metre tall beside our driveway (should have planted it further back). I applied the Pinhole Art Filter & then Adjust Vignetting to maximum '-ve' amount in the new Olympus Workspace program.

Here is the same species (I think) of the grass tree with a flower spike growing up in Blackheath (taken in 2015).

Jim
This one isn't a Big Bad Banksia Man (Snuggle Pot & Cuddle Pie - May Gibbs) as that would be the Banksia serrata.
This one is the Banksia integrifolia flower spike, commonly referred to as a Coastal Banksia, so it is really out of its natural environment inland in the Blue Mountains although they will grow almost anywhere. Actually, we have planted a few of them & some are upright & the others low with distorted growth, which is what this one is. I'm wondering if we bought two different species or cultivars of it. I can't remember as they are at least 25 years old now. I love my banksias.

Re: "Sunday Afternoon in the Garden"

#1, #3, and #6 for me. #1 and #6 I just like but the lighting for #3 makes it stand out even though ultimately I prefer #6 just because of the subject.

Thanks for your nice compliments.

Sorry for the slow response to you both.
