I thought this was a discussion about Jeremy Clarkson & Co.

Thanks for listing these, I was curious just in case you had some rangefinder kit. I'm always an optimist!

If you give Ffordes a call, they'll arrange pick up for you, then sell on a commission basis so you end up with 80% of the asking price. They will advise once they've inspected your items.

Re: Old Gear

I had the use of a Minolta (often referred to as the Mintola) SRT-101 when I was at school - 42 years ago

Later on it was updated to an XE-1.

The Nikon lenses can be used on the Oly body with a cheap converter. The old ones have the aperture ring so they are easy to use. The 105 was a highly regarded lens in its day and well worth experimenting with now.

There was a large variation in the production of the 105, but they can fetch good money depending on condition.

Re: Old Gear

After many years of courtship Tom finally decided to tie the knot with his long time fiancé.

One evening, after their honeymoon, he was cleaning the lenses on some of his cameras.

His new wife was standing there at the door watching him.

After a long period of silence she finally spoke ..

"Honey, I've just been thinking, now that we are married, maybe it's time you spent less time on those old cameras in and that darkroom.

Why don't you think about selling all your cameras along that silly E-Type that you keep in the garage; then we can get something sensible for shopping trips and visits to my mother.”

Tom had a horrified look on his face.

She said, "Darling, what's wrong?"

He replied, "For a minute you were starting to sound like my ex-wife."

"Ex-wife!" she screamed, "YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU WERE MARRIED BEFORE!"

Tom replied: “I wasn't."

Sorry for my late reply, I have been at the hospital for most of the day, nothing serious. Thank you for the heads up and confidence vote for Ffordes

Thank you, thank you very much for taking the trouble to write out the above list.

I will revisit the lenses and check the numbers and the specs. I didn't know they can be used on an Oly. That is impressive! Thanks for MIR link, most kind.

Re: Old Gear

I've sold a fair bit of stuff through Ffordes ovr the years and always had good service. They inspect everything before they list it, and if anything needs attention they will advise you.

Thank you for your message. In view of BeagleTorque's comments, I am going to keep the Nikon F and try out its lenses on an Oly. I came across another lens, a Nikkor 80-200mm 1:4 zoom lens 297598. Its heavy.

Re: Old Gear

Besides Ebay there are a number of Facebook groups dedicated to film gear, such as:
Film Photo Gear
EMULSIVE - Camera Detox - Buy / Sell / Trade
Film Cameras - Swap, Buy & Sell
Sell & Buy Non-Digital Camera Gear UK & "EU wide"

A lot of film gear is rocketing in price right now though due to the increasing popularity of film so it might be better to hold on to it for a while.

Or join the revolution and start shooting film again! :-)
I've been film only for over three years now.

I just bought an Oly OM-D E-M1 and decided to keep the old Nikkor/Nikon lenses. You wrote that I could pick up a cheap converter to experiment with. To be honest I haven't a clue what to look for? Can you please advise?
