The Royal Mail 'missed delivery' card that's actually fake - how to spot one and what you can do about it. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/perso...id=mailsignout

Re: Post office delivery card scam...

Thanks Wally. How are we to make an invormed judgement if a non 09 or 08 number such as the 0208 referenced is going to attract premium costs. Sounds like a mindfiekd.

Re: Post office delivery card scam...

Are we sure this is not 'fake news?

From Ofcom

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-tele...ll-really-cost

01 and 02 numbers: geographic numbers
These numbers relate to specific locations in the UK and are used for homes and businesses. For example, Huddersfield is 01484, Bath is 01225, Edinburgh is 0131 and London is 020.

Calls from landlines are typically charged up to 13p per minute; calls from mobiles between 3p and 55p per minute depending on your call package. For landlines there is normally also a call set-up fee, and call charges are dependent on the time of day. Most providers offer call packages that allow calls free of charge at certain times of the day.

My understanding from the above is that the charge is set by your service provider not the recipient of the call as is the case with Premium Rate numbers.

Nothing about 45 as in the MSN article. Suspect attempt to gather either personal details or credit card info. I don't believe that the phone call can cost anyone 45
