Charger flashing amber. Normal?

Pretty sure itís not normal on previous generations of Olympus Camera. Flashes faster on one battery (still has over 90% charge) than the other (starting at 56% charge).

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

Yes, that is normal for the E-M1ii charger. The frequency of the flashes changes as the charge increases.

Cheers,

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

I should have added that the light goes green when the battery is fully charged. I did have one Olympus battery that failed to charge, the orange light continued to flash even after several hours of charging, which normally only takes about two hours from flat. It was replaced under warranty

Cheers,

JohnGG

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

They do seem to charge pretty quickly compared to the other ones i've had before. Technology is obviously improving.

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

I wish all chargers would display the same behaviour, I.e. flash at differing rates when charging then change to a consistent colour. I’ve got so many different chargers and all do different things, on some the light goes out when charged, others change colour but give no idea of current (see what I did there!) state of charge. The Olympus one is pretty informative, much like my old Canon ones.

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

The problem for me was that the charger for my E-M5 and Pen uses a flashing amber light to indicate a problem...

My pet hate in so many things. Every young designer seems to want to make his/her mark by doing things differently. It's worst in software, where screen layouts and menus are constantly changing for no apparent reason

Re: Charger flashing amber. Normal?

Why can't they just standard it? I have Panny that shows GREEN when charging and no light when done. So if battery is faulty or not charging, it's also no light. Oly's EM1.2, that blinking can be irritating when I am trying to sleep.

That's the beauty of standards - everyone can have their own!
