Photoshop Stacking versus Single shot

8 shots stacked with Photoshop, and a tweak with Faststone

8 shots stacked with Photoshop

Single shot with LR processing

Well you can see the difference in areas better lit with the Lightroom rendition. Might well have been able to do that in Photoshop. Overall, and quite pleased with the last Lightroom photo, but could probably do more with the Photoshop rendition............

All taken with the TG-5, so perhaps not the best IQ...?

Re: Photoshop Stacking versus Single shot

The things I find noisiest are where shadows have been pushed to improve the image, so I think I might try some lowish light photos this evening and process in the same way to see the extreme difference!

Re: Photoshop Stacking versus Single shot

When stacking to reduce ISO, should I be using the ORF, or the JPEGS?

Single Jpeg processed in Faststone

13 stacked Jpegs in photoshop and tweaked in Photoshop for contrast etc.

The stacked image have less noise for certain. The bushes were moving accounting for the slight blur there. Photo taken of houses on the hill 500 metres away. Pany 100-400mm at full throttle used...……..

Re: Photoshop Stacking versus Single shot

Sorry If I'm missing the point here.

Have you abandoned in camera stacking, I had great success last summer with hand-held in camera stacking. Although not landscapes it must be said, but what's the difference?

Here are just a few.....

In 'Focus Stacking' eight ORF's are taken, stacked and merged in camera to produce one JPEG.

Try it, it's very simple.

I like this guy's stuff.......
