Bit the bullet............

Well I wasn't going to do it but the latest price drop and bundled HLD9 tipped me over the edge and on a trip to Bath last week I got the EM1 Mk2. Got an Experience Day at Marwell Zoo too, which will be useful for our south African safari in July .

I must admit that apart from customising the function buttons and some other buttons, I never really delved into this murky world with my Mk1, but I am thinking about this with the Mk2. Anyone got any tips as to the sort of customising I should be doing? I never really understood the reasons behind the lever next to the viewfinder on the Mk1 so would I find it useful on the Mk2? I have always been amazed at the range of setups available with Oly cameras and if I can decide on a useful range, I may well replicate them on my Pen F.

Re: Bit the bullet............

It's always nice when something like the bonus grip is part of the deal & although Olympus AU doesn't have the bonus, a couple of their dealers do (DCW & Digidirect). I'm sure you will enjoy the Mk II.

Re: Bit the bullet............

Thanks. I had forgotten about him. I printed all the stuff off for the EM1 soon after I bought it.

I printed my stuff long before buying it! As soon as specials & bonuses came last June I jumped on it, although as always, if I had waited a little longer I could have saved a further $250 from another supplier.

Re: Bit the bullet............

Welcome aboard Dave I'm sure you wont regret it. Don't like to look at the prices now Ross. I thought I got a good deal a year ago but I could have added an extra pro lens with the current discounts had I waited. Would have missed a lot of nice shots over the last year though

A key point, I feel. Whether it is "worth it" or not is another matter - but if you have enjoyed it then it is.

That's totally valid as well as having enjoyed using the camera all that time too.

Just in case, be sure latest firmware is loaded. The focus system for Birding really shines now.
