The resurrection

I dropped my E PL 3 when I was on holiday.
It fell on the strap eye on the opposite side to the on off and shutter button leaving a big dint where the microphone (I assume) is.
I played around with it for a while when I got back to the hotel but It looked well dead.
I placed a wanted advert here the same day for a replacement.
I was on the verge of accepting an offer of a epl 5, but I thought I'd give it one last try.
It seems to be working fine

Re: The resurrection

I had removed the battery for the flight home so it was a couple of days without a battery. Seems to have done a factory reset.

Anyone else experienced this?
Thought a post might be useful for anyone with a supposedly dead camera.

Re: The resurrection

Well worth looking at the holiday and household insurance policies.

I had an e-PL5 and it was very good. Enjoy...

Re: The resurrection

EPL5 is a superb camera and can now be purchased cheaply, well worth the cost and that sensor being the same as the EM5 original is superb.

Re: The resurrection

Hi Colin

I had not realised the kit lens in the box was totally unused
Thanks again!

Blimey it's really quiet compared to the one I had. I was not aware Oly had upgraded them.

I want to have a play with the camera on manual with my OM macro this weekend.
I think the touch screen zoom is going to be a boon for macro.
I can see my "E"s getting neglected now

Colin offered it to me at a price ( and delivered in person) that I nearly snatched his arm off

Re: The resurrection

I always switched off the touch screen because of random shots as it bounced on my tummy.

A reflection of the camera of course, not the belly size
