Tenthredo notha Female (Stereo Too) & a Mating Pair

I saw what appeared to be a rather large wasp flying around the Goldenrod foliage. It was a pair of mating wasps (sawflies). I got only one image (the last here) of them coupled, which demonstrates the difficulty in getting a clear shot. Before I could move around for a better viewpoint they separated and the male flew away. The female settled on some nearby Hazel leaves for a while, allowing the other frames.

The larvae of this species feed on clover so I don't know why I see the adults on Goldenrod.

Olympus EM-1(aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f11, daylight, hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye.

Harold, given the circumstances it's an excellent set. I'm sure the head with it's opaque black eyes and canine muzzle inspired the creation of Darth Vadar.
