Made the jump

I have been toying with the idea of getting an upgrade to my E-30 and was going to push it and go for a Om-d M1 ii but had a bit of a sensible head on and went for the mark i instead.

250 for good used condition seemed a decent deal and it gets delivered at the end of the week.

Unsure if I'll hold onto my E-30 as might need to move on to recoup some of the 250 for the OM-D.

Can't wait on it arriving now. Any advice on the change welcome. :-)

Hold onto it (at least for a while) ;
Proper phase-detect focusing
&
different colours to the new models.
Well worth keeping until you get used to mirrorless.

Re: Made the jump

The camera arrived today and looks in mint condition with only 5000 shutter count. The description said good condition but it is immaculate. Really impressed.

Updating the firmware now and just waiting on the MMF-3 arriving so I can test it out.

I kept my E-30 thinking very much that I could use it as a backup ... I have yet to do so

Regards
Andy

Re: Made the jump

My Mk1 does all I expected and I have no plans to update it. I haven't even bothered to update the firmware.

Re: Made the jump

I'm sure there have been some improvements made in some of the firmware updates. No point if you are happy with it I suppose.

5000! Sounds like a great buy. (Of course it may have had further electronic actuations which don't add to the internal count, and/or been used for video work.) It is a great camera.

You don't need to wait for an adapter to try to get to grips with the menu system and setup. Most people find the manual indigestible and inadequate. There are some online resources or indeed books which are very useful.
