Re: CaptureOne Pro update

Actually, the email (I got) states the E-P5 is included but it isn't on the list on the web page though. What's the go with CO? Do they have free updates for added camera models or are you just offered the latest release at upgrade prices & offers? I'm using Express 6 at the moment & am still getting used to some of it's adjustments, options & outputs.

Capture One Express 7 is a paid upgrade from Express 6. To upgrade costs 49 euros here in the UK. A new (non-upgrade) copy is 69 euros.

Additional cameras are supported and features are added as updates are released Ross. I'm sure the EM-1 will be supported in the next release.
Incremental updates are free, it's only when a new version comes out that there's an upgrade charge i.e from CO6 to CO7.

Thanks, I'm aware of that & for the Express 7 I've had an email offer at a good price, "Until Sunday September 22nd you can upgrade to Capture One 7 for just 19 Euro or 29 USD "

Thanks Huw. I thought that should be the case. Maybe I might go for the Express 7 for now for the low price & get the Pro in the future.

Good idea Ross has every so often they sometimes do a special cheaper deal for express users to upgrade to Pro, it's how I got Pro cheaper than the usual upgrade price.

Yes, I've done alright getting the Express 6 for nothing through Digital Camera magazine & then this Express 7 for just 19,00 EUR. All I have to do is learn how to use it all & the different way of handling the files, such having to Import the files before doing anything with them & then Export for saving them (instead of Processing). Olympus did something similar with OV3 (to some extent). It must be the latest trend.

Re: CaptureOne Pro update

Just for the sake of it, I've redone an image previously from the camera's jpeg (with DTC) from the RAW file in my newly acquired Capture One (Express) 7 with what appears to be better noise smoothing than out of the camera jpeg (both images resized & sharpened in OV3 for web display).

The original jpeg (DTC).

The Capture One attempted edit (& cropped to similar size to the above).

Hopefully I'll get better at using the CO7.

Re: CaptureOne Pro update

Nice job Ross
There are many things CO does very well, top of my list for some time (since version 3.7 actually) is the amount of detail it retrieves from a RAW file.

Thanks Huw. It certainly does have a few tools to use to. I've finally worked out how to get individual photos in (imported) now & that part doesn't seem so efficient but that's a small price to pay for everything else it offers. The Express is good value for money (for the price I got it at anyhow ) & maybe later I'll get the Pro.
