Smile New to photography

Hello all

Im very new to photography so apologies in advance if I ask silly questions!!
Ive always had point and shoot cameras but have just bought a 2nd hand Olympus E420 to see how I get on with a dslr.
Im doing an evening course to learn more about the manual settings as I have no idea about aperture settings and shutter speeds but am really enjoying the process so far.

Look forward to learning more from the forums

Sharon

Welcome Sharon,

The great thing about starting something new is the chances to meet new people, try new things and enjoy yourself.

There are lots of VERY helpful people on this forum and questions are always welcome, as you will be amazed at how often things are brought up that even the most experienced (aka Old) can't remember.

Re: New to photography

Ask away, Sharon, there's no such thing as stupid questions, only stupid answers. None of us here know absolutely everything, but collectively we get pretty darn close! The main thing is to enjoy your photography and enjoy learning. Full marks for enrolling on a course.

Re: New to photography

Hi Sharon,

Welcome to the friendly forum, ask anything and someone on the forum will know the answer and share it with you.

Most of all enjoy your photography, it's a great creative medium to express yourself and if other people enjoy your photos then that's an added bonus.

All the best.

Tom

Re: New to photography

Hello Iain and Peter

I may post something over the weekend if Im feeling brave =)

We all have to start somewhere. It was a picture I took in the garden that got me hooked. I was snapping away at a plant with bunches of white flowers on it and was thrilled when a bee appeared!
I snapped as quickly as I could and when I downloaded pics onto my laptop I was over the moon when I saw one I really liked. Since then Ive been in the garden alot taking tons of dodgy snaps but still enjoying it =)

Might just post my bee as hes very cute

Sharon
