Aurora 6.3.16

Mother's Day produced the best aurora of the winter. It started off as a green glow in the north before escalating to a green/red/mauve/purple spectacular, and all at a nice reasonable time of the evening! It was all over by 10.30 pm as the clouds rolled in.

All taken with the EM1 and 7-14mm Olympus at f2.8. ISO of first photo 1600, others taken at 3200.

I subscribe to Lancs Uni's 'Aurora Watch' alerts, but they missed it! I wouldn't have seen it down here anyway.

A good set, it's nice to see a variety of colours.

Jim
I have a couple of apps on my phone which send out a warning Jim - Aurora Notifier and Aurora Alert.
I know that this one was visible as far south as Oxfordshire, so if you could have got away from the streetlights you might have just about been able to see it.

Great set of shots David. It was a spectacular show and you have inspired me to put some of mine up later.

More superb shots, didn't realise it got so far south. If I'd known I could have seen that one Must get those apps on my phone.
