Manual Oly lenses (85mm / 100mm)

I've long been thinking about some more manual Olympus lenses, and wondered if anybody has an 85mm / f2, and / or an 100 mm / f2.8 that they wished to part with (not the 100 / f2, as it's probably too expensive for the use I'd give it - better for me to save and get the MFT 75 / 1.8 with autofocus).

I'd be able to use either (or both) lens(-es) on 4/3, m4/3, Canon FF, and Sigma bodies, as well as my old OM10 ! And I love the compact size.

The 85mm f/2 is a gorgeous lens - light, compact and good. A sort of ancestor of the m43 45mm f/1.8. And no, mine is not for sale

On the same token the 100mm f2.8 is superb but I'm afraid it's needed for the OM-1n still Free nudge though, good luck with your search!

Re: Manual Oly lenses (85mm / 100mm)

Sorry to post in the thread without offering to sell a lens but if it helps at all I have Minolta Rokkor and Olympus Zuiko 85 f2's and a Canon FD f1.8. Of the three I'd say that the Rokkor is the best but really I'm nit picking and any of these lenses would be perfectly fine.

The reason I mention this is the Zuiko's I've seen recently seem to be priced higher than the Rokkor and FD lenses and as there's next to nothing between them maybe it'd be an idea to buy whatever is available at a good price and in good condition.

I think Kami might not be listening. I sent him/her a PM but have heard nothing...

Re: Manual Oly lenses (85mm / 100mm)

Sorry, I was asleep ! I've answered your PM, pdk.

I've not thought about the Minoltas nor the Canons as I've Olympus OM10 film bodies that need an occasional outing; I've adapters for Minoltas and Canons for 4/3, m4/3, but not for Canon FF / Sigma - I'll look into whether the cost of extra adapters offsets the savings. And ... I really like Oly glass :-)

Re: Manual Oly lenses (85mm / 100mm)

I was forgetting that Canon and Minolta manual lenses can't be adapted for Canon Digital, owing to flange distances (no infinity focus); so Olympus manual lenses it is (or suggestions M42 / PK / M39).

Still keen on hearing about 85/f2, and 100/f2.8 - plus, possibly, anybody have any experience of the 135/f2.8 ?

I had the 135/2.8 - it's not a patch on the 100/2.8.

Re: Manual Oly lenses (85mm / 100mm)

I am now the happy owner of a 100/2.8 Oly - thanks pdk !
Will give it a run tomorrow in daylight.

Still interested in discussing an 85/f2 if anybody is willing to part with theirs ... :-)
