Nice light on the Moorhen. I think that the Common Coot needs a very slight anti-clockwise rotation.

Kingfisher + Lunch...........

Was watching a heron on the other side of the hide @wwt @ Llanelli, when through a closed hide window I saw two kingfishers, thus opening the window with one hand and holding the camera + lens with one hand I managed to get this shot of the KF avec fish............... on a stick...............

How long do you have to wait for that................

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Nice shots Mark. We too have been 'adopted' by over 40 House Sparrows and they have very healthy appetites. We have one fewer now, though, as one was taken by a Sparrowhawk this morning. Lynn noticed the pile of feathers on the lawn, partially hidden by a large planter, and stepped outside to have a better look, just in time to see the Sparrowhawk take off. We would have had a brilliant view from the dining room. Oh well …

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

I'm very pleased with these two photos, as there's a single pair of Choughs breeding at The Lizard Point in Cornwall.

I heard an unusual bird call from the other side of a hedge and there were these... I'm not usually the person to spot a particular bird, so that pleased me!

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

That's a great find and two super shots Walti. I have never seen a Chough but I have never been to Cornwall either.
