Re: Who uses Stylus 1?

Now Wally, all we need now is some fantastic photos with it from you.

That was quite a run down & glad you finally have it & successfully updated the firmware too. Don't you just breath a sigh of relief when you see this?

EDIT. Just looking at the dusty appearance of this, I highly recommend putting a screen protector on ASAP because I would have had some serious gouges in my camera's screens had it not been for the protector.

Re: Who uses Stylus 1?

Hi Ross, the update can be a sweating blood operation especially if the i'net goes down.

Busy reading a PDF version of the manual. Had ordered one a while back after which, I had a 'senior moment' and ordered another one from Olympus which has yet to arrive??? Print is too small for comfort and the layout is pretty mixed up to find things easily... probably written by a grasshopper the way it jumps around. Screen savers ordered from Germany... cheaper than UK even with postage.

Have sussed the spirit level thingy as well as the Digi -zoom but double dammned if I can suss the tcon 17x side of things - birthday present from the kids.

For the time being, its feet up with the manual. Apparently, I have to keep taking the tablets. Can't stand without falling over, can't walk straight when I can stand, can't drive and can't drink. There are times when life can be a PITA... and that hurts also.

I printed mine in A4 & I also have a comb binder, so that took care of that part, but it might be worthwhile keeping the update details in the manual as well since they haven't updated the manual to include any updates (like they did for the E-M1).

I sure hope you're feeling better soon Wally so you can enjoy your new camera. Maybe you'll just have to take test shots from where you're sitting but you don't need to share them if you don't want to.

Take care Mate!

Having purchased Kevin's (baldyb) pristine example I have to admit that I'm quite surprised at what a fantastic little all-round package it is.
I can't understand why Olympus dipped out after the 1s? It's great a concept, small camera, EVF, lots of features and a quite good 28-300 equivalent 'fast' zoom.
What's not to like, well I guess the high iso performance but it's actually not that bad with iso 800-1600 certainly useable to my eye.
I'm really happy with it

Re: Who uses Stylus 1?

Actually I have a question, has any figured out whether its possible to display the histogram together with the level gauges (3D or traditional)?

Sorry, but they didn't add that dual feature into this model. It's one or the other. If you have firmware 2.0 then that is all they've gone to (as the 1s).

We have two in our household, my 1 that my daughter usually borrows & my wife's 1s.

It is a great little performer for what it is & if using sequential drive mode with flash it will keep firing away every second if the flash hasn't drained much. Having a leaf shutter it is possible to use the flash up to 1/2000 sec. & the frame rate up to 7 fps is nice too (off putting for my wife as she doesn't like the 'spray & pray' possibility). Don't forget in brighter conditions there is the ND filter, easily accessible from the SCP (or front function button if selected).

Hope you enjoy it for it's versatile use.

Thanks for confirming that Ross, yes Kevin had updated it to v2.0 so I guess I have all the features that it will ever have
Great little camera, I can't put it down at the moment

Thanks again Ross, I thought it might be a leaf shutter, same as the Sigma DP Merrills I had up until recently. 7 fps can be handy and the ND filter is a nice feature too. It really is a nice package.

Re: Who uses Stylus 1?

Must admit i am loving mine, depending on where i am going sometimes just take that and leave the E-3 at home, including getting some very pleasing birds of prey in flight pics with it, still learning all the time with all the features it has.
