Prices for EM1 Mk1

Thinking of selling my EM1 Mk1 owned from new with a 12855 shutter count...what would I be likely to get selling private..

I have seen a near brand new EM1 Mk2 for sale and if the difference is not too large I may go for it.

Condition is very good on my EM1 all the usual with it boxes etc, only the hot shoe cover is missing, which appears to be a thing with most 2nd hand ones.

Any suggestions welcome.

Peter

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

Mine was on sale with Ffordes with its hotshoe cover and HLD-7 (and a much lower shutter count) from last January for 499 with only one attempted purchase. Another very similar camera was also being offered for the same price over that time as well. Neither were selling so after consulting Ffordes we lowered our price to 449 and they have both gone out to would-be purchasers on approval.

So the price with the hLD-7 and a six month guarantee seems to be around 450 now. That nets me 360, so I'd guess for a private sale you could expect to get around 395?

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

From what I've seen I think 350 to 400 is the going rate depending on condition. Quick sale 325.

Thanks Paul/Chris...funnily enough I was thinking around 395...i do look after my gear so it probably would be a good buy for someone.

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

I advertised one here a week or so ago - HLD-7 (practically unused), and E-M1 with 3800 shots. No takers at 450 even though in excellent condition with all boxes and three batteries, so 400 may be about right.

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

I see Ffordes have just advertised another E-M1 & HLD-7 for 475, so they must have decided the sale prices we agreed of 450 were a bit low... the two they were selling at the price disappeared almost as soon as we dropped the previous price!

All you can do is test the market if you want to sell it on rather than keep it as a second body

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

Hmmm, mine (EM1 plus HLD7) is ready to be advertised but due to its less than perfect condition (the grip is fine) I was going to put it on Gumtree for about 350 as ones put on here don't seem to be shifting.

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

It's depressing how camera bodies tumble in value, esp when new models are released. Rumour has it that this year will see an E-M5ii and a Pen-Fii.
