Exclamation A new forum board for macro discussion

Many thanks to Harold Gough for pointing out that we lacked a board dedicated to macro photography - so here it is!

Over to you!

Re: A new forum board for macro discussion

Some time back on a sister site, there was a macro "What is it?" that had some interesting views of objects. The techniques used to get the images were not discussed, so maybe that would be a good way to get some interest going...

Is it some kind of material with the Kodak logo printed on it?

Ian,

Thanks for the unearned credit.

What I did say was that the "Lens focus" forum had no subforum for macro lenses, which range for very wide to rather long FL.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what comes up in discussion. I have been active in various macro forums for a decade or so, so I have not been lacking either a source of information or a host of my images, but I will be happy to contribute here.

Harold

I have used it several years ago. This image is a stack of about 10 or 12 frames of an aphid mummy (empty) with a Praon hyperparasite cocoon underneath it:

[Edit] Olympus E-P2, Olympus Zuiko MF 38mm auto bellows lens, tripod, anti shock 8 seconds, 1/13 f8 ISO 400

It was 35mm of telescopic tube extension plus 10mm of adapter. The lens is effectively 76mm on the E-P2. [edit ends]

I have a set of Microscope Objectives: 5X 10X 20X 40X

If anyone would like to have a go with them, you will need an RMS Thread adaptor.

All I want is the cost of the P&P and an agreement that they are passed on to another Forum Member and not sold...

Yes! But you need the adapter to screw them into.

I use my old M42 to MFT adapter with a RMS to M42 attached.

I'm guessing a Kodachrome slide mount!
