With the variations of light and shadow, your photos of Parodia buiningii aka Notocactus buiningii with Stereos, are almost 3-D. Beautiful looking, thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Phil.

I tend to use the terms stereo and 3D interchangeably. I think you probably found the depth rather realistic, which was the plan

The longer shadows were from late afternoon sun. Unlike many species, which wait for the warmest part of the day to open, and close by mid afternoon, this one, once open, makes more of an afternoon of it. This is very different from the next species I will post, when I had about an hour.

Clematis Haku-Okan

This was on the shaded side of a tree trunk on a sunny day. It seemed a good time to capture the rich colour.

The stereo is crosseye.

Olympus EM-1, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f8, hand-held.

Harold

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

A Temperate Ginger Roscoea auriculata

Most gingers are tropical but this one lives in the Himalayas, China, etc.

Shot is shade to keep the depth of colour.

Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f13 & f10, hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye.

Harold
