I saw my Double

"Then I walked across the street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone frying chicken"
well maybe not quite. but I thought I'd open the door on a serendipitous
picture of my alter ego taken from the steps of Flinders Street Station last Thursday.

He's younger, has longer legs and is immensely better looking ...

John, Keith, now that's curious, I have no explanation - he's quite extant on mine ...

Re: I saw my Double

Error ..................

Edit: The proof that it's not actually me is that it's clearly a Nikon ... !

Re: I saw my Double

You're right, John - my last post was to 'Lorell' on another forum - very embarrassing error! "Warnie" got sprung the same way when he sent a text to his wife in Oz that was intended for his g/f ...

Cant' see the legs, but his arms are very short though as he has to roll his sleeves up.
Not sure it's a Nikon.

Re: I saw my Double

Looks like an E-M1 Mk 1 to me, with a 4/3 adaptor and an old Oly lens!

As for the alter ego... I didn't realise that you are Chinese, or a Buddhist monk, Mark.... And what is the logo on his coat? Batman something? Kathmandu? I like it!

His arms appear normal, the sleeves of his jacket are simply too long, a manufacturing fault. I'm damned if I know what's happened to the opening image. It has mysteriously disappeared, I will try to replace it. I'm sure it's a Nikon by the shape of the word as it appears on his camera. 1st letter is upper case followed by lower case letters of the right length. Most other makes have upper case branding.

Well I am half Chinese Buddhist monk, half Irish, Keith. Hence the wisdom and wit, respectively.

Yep, he's a very cool dresser, I can't read the logo on his coat either.

Re: I saw my Double

I think it is a Sony A7s with FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS especially with the red ring around the mount. Certainly not a Nikon!

The Irish thing makes sense now!

Well you may well be right about it being a Sony A7s - I noted the red ring also, but Nikon also have a red ring on their lenses.

Re: I saw my Double

That's odd, Nikon must have changed their ring colour since I owned a D70s (2005) which I'm sure had a red ring on the lens to match the red on the handgrip.

Re: I saw my Double

All the digital Nikons have the red grip bit. Nikon never had a red lens ring, only gold for their best ED lenses.

Re: I saw my Double

Then extremely poor taste on the part of Nikon, I'd say - red gold and black, yet not of the BRD

By no means all Canon lenses have a red ring, even L series.
Sony looks likely, though the red "lens ring" looks like a reflection to me. And, on reflection, it looks a bit big to be an M1.
