Re: Sweet 16

I like the effect of "misty" but feel it might be a tad overdone so I'll go with that rather nice B&W version.

Re: Sweet 16

Hi. Chevvy,
Have you ever tried an 'Orton' effect?
If you use Photoshop you create a duplicate layer, use Gaussian blur to completely blur the layer and increase brightness, then reduce the opacity of the second layer so you get a rather nice dreamy effect. I am happy to show you how but I can only do it when I get back from hols on Tuesday.

Re: Sweet 16

Number 2 for me Chevvy, although I think I would prefer it if the highlights on the lips and eyelashes were softened a little.

Re: Sweet 16

I like the B&W you could lighten the eyes a tad as they are the windows to the soul and that will draw the viewer into the photo more, plus if you have Nik software try the Glamour Glow filter selectively. Very pretty girl with a lovely smile she needs a flattering image to celebrate being sweet 16.

Re: Sweet 16

Chevvy If I had to choose one it would be the B&W , but saying that none really do justice to the young lady and especially her smiling eyes.

I had a 5 min play for you to see what I could come up with.

You're a clever so and so Paul. That is brilliant. I, and I am sure others, would be very interested to know exactly what you did in those five minutes to achieve that transformation.

Re: Sweet 16

I like the colour and the b and w, the blurry one isn't to my taste.

I think some judicious editing could be beneficial, I am certainly no expert on pp for portraits but I had a quick edit see what you think.

Re: Sweet 16

Given my general aversion to B&W you may be surprised that I prefer #2.

Paul's edit really brings her to life.

Re: Sweet 16

Her eyes are too dark in the original and the colour seems a little saturated. I would try a preset such as Glamour Glow from color efex pro.
