Bit to far away for me but I'd be interested in your comments and images afterwards Andy.

Re: Light painting photowalk camera centre cardiff

What timing!

I went on one of these only yesterday in Bristol guided by the very same Jez Sugars. A brilliant and informative afternoon. To be fair, the `light painting` aspect was less interesting to me than the photowalk itself but the technique using Live Composite was fascinating to see. Jez is an excellent guide and I picked up lots of useful info about my EM1 Mk 2. Just as good, I was loaned a 25mm F1.2 for the afternoon- a super sharp lens. If you get the chance to attend one of these I urge anyone to take it. Not had a chance to sort out my shots yet due to pressures of xmas shopping but will do so soon.

Tim

Re: Light painting photowalk camera centre cardiff

Well this is it and from here on the thread is going to be image heavy (sorry)

It was an interesting walk and as mentioned already more of a street walk looking at low light (but don't be afraid to limit your ISO) and with just a bit of live composite at the end

We started with some in camera processing including Colour separation

Next was some encouragement to use B&W but I wasn't happy with my results so you are not seeing those and then into the indoor market for some classic street photography

He spotted me.. I said how I loved all the colour and got another picture out of it..

this one didn't spot me ..

Then out into the Christmas market. it was the end of a long day so no chance of a smile..

And finally just after the live composite demo Nature decided to put on a real show behind us and sorry, but Jez lost all of us to it ...

I ran across the road to where I knew there was an interesting statue, only to be joined by all the rest of the gang for about 10 minutes

All in all I had a nice reminder of some functionality I have not tried much, had another free walk to boost my confidence in street photography and I would recommend joining one of these if you can

Sadly the special offers of the day were not what I was looking to purchase (isn't that often the case)

Regards
Andy

I really like them Andy, especially the happy sikh and the preoccupied cook (no need for a smile). It sounds like an enjoyable and worthwhile session.
