Re: Belper East Mill

Hi Phill,

My neck of the woods, did you get the passport stamped at Milford bridge or did you creep in via the Chevin road ( only joking). You don't realise how red the old brick are till you see them with some sun on them. Did you get into the river gardens on the other side of the mill ?

I worked on the top floor for a while in 1978 and could get up to the top on the roof. Would like to get up now.

Nice scale with the cars.
The dramatic comes in I find with grey flatfish skies.

See you soon I hope

Ian

Re: Belper East Mill

Thanks Chevvy and Ian. The Old Mill looks pretty good for its age from that side. The ravages of time are telling round the back though.
Yes I managed to sneak through the customs post at Duffield last night Ian but I got caught by the closed road barriers at the Little Eaton roundabout tonight Should have stuck to the back roads. We did get into the River Gardens. Hadn't been there for ages, it's much nicer than I'd remembered. Light was going a bit by that time though so must go back earlier.

Re: Belper East Mill

Yes I admit it did look lovely in the evening light. They have an interesting mill museum in part of it, if it's still open. Ian Grego should know he's pretty close to it.
