EP2 skin - how to fit please

I just bought an SGB black leather(?) skin for my EP2. It came with no understandable installation instructions.

StephenL posted about a year ago that he had one and fitting it was easy.

I (being a nervous type) would like some instruction and/or video showing how its done, and would appreciate help from Stephen or anyone else please.

Sorry to put this in the lounge rather then the EP2 section, but that does not seem to have many visitors at the moment....

Thanks for any help...

Re: EP2 skin - how to fit please

It really is simple - just do a bit at a time. Remove the lens and put the body cap on - it makes it easier. Have a look at this video - it's in the foreign but it is self-explanatory.

But most of all, clean all surfaces with something like isopropyl alcohol or a spectacle cleaning wipe.

And after you've finished, keep going over the edges with something like a credit card. You'll probably find they have a tendency to lift for a while afterwards.

Re: EP2 skin - how to fit please

Stephen,

Very many thanks for the prompt reply. I had searched U Tube but could only find videos about putting skins on iPhones (whatever they might be).

I had seen a video about another make which gave the same instructions as this one, but it was not clear to me whether with the SGP one you had to use tap water or whether it is self adhesive. That would be rather frightening have no room for slip to adjust.

My kit has an additional piece circular ring lik a a lens mount - I will not bother with it.

Thanks again for the help, I will try it this afternoon...

As far as I know all skins are self-adhesive. Unless yours is different! They can be lifted and repositioned if done within a few minutes.

The circular ring is for going on the body cap (!). Yes. Useful. Not.

Re: EP2 skin - how to fit please

I managed to fit it OK. Slight bubble on the LCD screen otherwise perfect.

I got the EP2 VF2 and 17mm kit from Ffordes and am very pleased with it.

Fitted with the pana 14-42PZ it fits in my pocket and goes everywhere with me. I used to carry a Ricoh GX100 as a pocket camera but gave it up over a year ago as the image quality became unacceptable to the Agency I use.

The new pocket came is pretty much as good as the E5

Re: EP2 skin - how to fit please

Glad you managed to fit it okay. I bought a smooth black leather skin for my E-P1 and it looks so much better than the original.

Re: EP2 skin - how to fit please

I am very pleased with the look of the EP2. My EP1 used to be in everyday use, but is now a back up for the EP2. So I am not sure whether to leave it in peace, pimp it up like its smart brother or sell it.
