Visitor when trying BIF.

Was sitting the garden trying to get a shot of a fast flying Blue Tit in flight coming or leaving the feeders.

As usual lots of BITS but no BIFs.

Got this one which is slightely soft but shows a strange flight action.

Took a break and when I came back this guy had moved in and was happy to sit even when the shutter clicked and I moved about pity he is not a red.

seemed happy to sit there even when I moved about close to him.

Only left when he knocked the solar light fitting down and awakened one of my cats who came to see what the noise was but did not see this guy dissappear down the garden.

Feedback welcome.

Re: Visitor when trying BIF.

Love your bird shot ED, quite an amazing capture to have caught him so neatly in the wrought iron frame.

And I do love squirrels, such cute little guys and very, very fast! I saw them first in London, then years later in the US.

Great shots Ed. I love the 'Kamikaze' approach of the bird. The two squirrel shots are great too.

Haha! Funny capture of that Blue Tit. As if diving from a spring board

The first Squirrel photo is very sharp. Interesting feeder style. With an open dish like that it is no wonder a Squirrel gets on top.

BTW: I had to burry a Red Squirrel few weeks back, which came to visit our garden and feeder during the winter. She was always welcomed to do so, by all family, exept one - apparently. I blame our tomcat for her premature end

Re: Visitor when trying BIF.

Ha! Caught in the split second that the bird had it's wings folded - it happens too fast for the eye to see it. We've got similar trouble with squirrels stealing the bird's nuts and keeping them from the feeders. When a cat enters the garden the squirrels all scold it, from the safety of the high branches, of course!

Re: Visitor when trying BIF.

The blue tit looks like he's just fallen off his perch....straight into the hands of the waiting squirrel, who can be seen just finishing him off in the second shot, and looking for more in the third.

Re: Visitor when trying BIF.

Thanks all for your comments, the first was just luck I was going to take a shot of him sitting on the feeder to check settings and just as I clicked he decided to end it all! Do not mind the Squirrel but if he starts bringing friends..............

Used Sigma 135 -- 400 for Squirrel shots quite pleased.

Re: Visitor when trying BIF.

Love the blue tit...you are lucky to get squirrels on your feeders, at least they are photogenic, we are forever getting pigeons...which the dog loves to chase off!
