Lightroom 6 creating new date folder.

This is driving me nuts, every time I import a file into LR it creates a new folder with that day's date.

TIA

Re: Lightroom 6 creating new date folder.

What do you want or expect it to do?

When importing, control click on Folder you want to import to (on Mac), and on right hand side under destination, organise, select 'into one folder' rather than 'by date'. If you have subfolders in your destination folder, select 'into subfolder' as well.
Hope this helps

Put it into a folder that I chose ie. the same name as the folder I exported it from.

Off the top of my head - can't you select this at the time of import? Lightroom kinda expects you to set up a preferred way of doing things (as a default) but I'm sure you can change it when starting an import. It's very flexible.

Re: Lightroom 6 creating new date folder.

Just had a quick look, when importing there is a configuration panel called 'Destination' and you can choose 'By Original Folder', 'One Folder' or by 'By Date'. I personally use the last.

You can also import any old way and then export to a nominated folder later.
