Somebody just has to do it!!

HI folks,
I have taken part in and been following the thread on what to do with this section.

I reckon we just need to start it off so here goes, this is my pic of the day.
I used the search button and selected 1 day, so I assume the three pages of pics were all posted in the past day and I selected this one, called 'Light Brass' by Janet.

Why? Well I love the muted treatment, composition and the flare, it immediately drew my attention to it. I must admit I am a bit of a sucker for pics that are a bit different and this , for me fits the bill.

So who will be next? I see no reason why several people cannot pick their choice each day if they want to. The process can always be refined as we go on.

Re: Somebody just has to do it!!

Well done Shirley and iain for getting this off the ground. Two great choices and deserved recognition for Janet. Who took the second one, Iain?

Re: Somebody just has to do it!!

Thanks Shirley...I'm glad you liked it! One of an ongoing series since I became a brass band groupie!

I have to admit that I only loaded the images today after being prompted by the thread in question...I tend just to upload my images to Flickr and rather forget about the gallery on here...it was a timely reminder...

Anyway, I did as you did and had a look through the Gallery and came up with this one. Although there were many others that caught my eye, this one jumped out at me.

I love the detail and the composition...OK, he's just showing off because he has an e5, but I won't hold that against him!

I have to say that when I went through the gallery I was amazed at the quality of shots from members who I'd never heard of, all recent too! I really must make time to go through the galleries and add some comments.

So, who's next?

Janet

I'm having a "stupid" day - how do I view the latest photos in a search...?

Thank you Janet, you know you want one.Seriously though an E5 or a second hand E3 both with that great big viewfinder would really help for focusing with those manual lenses you use.

Thanks

Hi,
If you go to the gallery link and look to the right hand side of the page under the search field you'll find the Recent Photos 1 day option

Re: Somebody just has to do it!!

I think this is great - a kind of 'my choice of picture of the day'

Re: Somebody just has to do it!!

Taken from Ringneck's gallery...

Dramatic image, beautifully composed, nicely sharp and well lit.

I'd pay to have a canvas of that on my wall.

I agree, perhaps we could start a new thread per week. If nobody objects I will start a new one tomorrow AM and we can go Saturday to Saturday. Roughly 7 pics per thread should be OK.
