The latest Google phone/camera will also do some very clever stuff.

I totally agree.
Technology is "helping" the less artistic user ( like me )

But ...

The implications are :- how do you be different and stand out from the crowd Talent and skill matter.

But ...

if a machine can do it then Humans need to move up a notch.

Not many people make money lighting gas lights these days and "pro" photographers are in decline.
