This morning Radio 4 transmitted the prayer they all have to listen to each working morning in the Chamber. Having heard it, at best they don't listen. More likely they have listened and then blanked it out of their minds for the rest of the the day. It bears little or no relation to how they behave.

Perhaps a better prayer would be one to warn against arrogance and self-importance?

Harold

Why stop with BJ? As they keep reminding 'us' the royal we, - meaning them - are all in it together.

Jim, if it really were the case that only Boris Johnson was to blame we wouldn't have much to worry about. The truth is that a great many of the 650 MP's on all sides have a lot to answer for.

If we blame any one political party in isolation we deceive ourselves.

Totally agree, they’ve all put political point scoring above the good of the country, any one of them who loses their seat only have themselves to blame.

I'm talking about Boris 'Pants on Fire' Johnson's character. A serial liar, fired from three jobs for doing so. An adulterer, who tried to get his girlfriend to have his child aborted and tried to get a court order to suppress the news. He also advised a friend to have an enemy beaten up. This is the person who the normally mild mannered Eddie Mair said to his face "You're a nasty piece of work, aren't you!".

And this is the person that many consider to be a good candidate for P.M.!

Well I for one certainly wouldn't want to see BoJo as PM. He would be a liability.

However, my point was that BoJo is not alone. There are many unsavoury characters on both sides of the house, including former terrorists, although they don't turn up for work very often.

Remember the lovely, soft, cuddly Cyril Smith for example? He wasn't a Tory but you wouldn't want him anywhere near young children would you?

If you honestly believe that members of any one political party are beyond reproach then you are a misguided fool.

Given the choice yes. BoJo may be an unsavoury character but he is not a terrorist sympathiser.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

There is current concern among HGV drivers that, following a Hard Brexit, they would need an International Driver's Licence to drive in the EU. (There are not enough available for all of them anyway).

I haven't hear anything about reciprocal limitations on vehicles from the EU.

I don't recall any need for an International Licence before the EU.

Maybe a reciprocal arrangement would be a good idea given the number of HGV accidents caused by Eastern Europeans who fail to take adequate rest breaks, and who are usually paid peanuts for their work.

Maybe the UK government could insist that foreign drivers are paid at least the UK minimum wage?

Reciprocity is key here, match everything that is imposed upon us. We should have done this years ago when the US introduced photos and fingerprints at US airports, do exactly the same to them, exactly.

As for IDL, why ‘not enough’ ? You simply rock up to a PO counter and they will issue you one if you hand over a filled in form, your existing DL and some coins, what’s the problem with lorry drivers having one anyway?

Good morning Nigel, we don’t get QT in Kenya, but I did see on the google news there was a question raised by Fiona Bruce asking if Diane Abbott only got the front bench because she had slept with Jeremy Corbyn. That must have been a hard question to ask.

They will also need a Green Card (AA current advice), something Spain required for many years after we became EU members.

The rumour is that there are far few permits to be made available for issue, compared with just the number of UK-based HGV drivers who would need one.

Anyway, my point was that. if it is to work both ways, it has been kept very quite.
