Opera House by Night & Harbour Lights

It was a warm summer's night and people were out and about enjoying it, including yours truly.
S6
At anytime the Sydney Opera House is an impressive sight, no more so than by night
S6
There were so many great photo ops that I hardly stopped shooting.
XZ2
Lots of Japanese tourists with selfie sticks taking pictures of themselves and their families with the Bridge as a backdrop.
S6
I would like to have joined the diners but unfortunately I'd forgotten my dinner suit
S6
On the outer looking in ...

I hope you enjoyed the armchair tour and that one day soon you'll be able to pay us a visit

Re: Opera House by Night & Harbour Lights

That was a great armchair tour Mark, really brought back memories of my only trip to Oz probably about 8 years ago now. It was a work trip but I managed to wangle a couple of days holiday in Sydney as well, it was brill. Except for the fact I got swine flu at the end to come back with! They let me on the plane and I got home ok but then I found out work wouldn't let me go back in for 2 weeks, so if they had started checking temperatures at the airports half a day later I'd have been able to recuperate in Sydney for 2 weeks at works expense
I really do need to convince my other half that the flight is not really that long

I remember a TV programme a few years back that showed the foyer of the Opera House. There was a cicada among the potted plants. The noise was stupendous and echoed around the place!

Another great holiday brochure for us Mark. They are all outstanding compositionally (the shooting conditions are obviously not ideal from a technical point of view) but I think #4 edges ahead by a whisker; the central figure makes it.

Re: Opera House by Night & Harbour Lights

Phill, What a pity they let you on the plane with swine flu and likely infected half the passengers when you could have convalesced at the Opera House!

Yorky, thanks.

Jim, I wish I could have seen inside the Opera House, even better to have attended a show but time and money (especially money) didn't allow.
