Sydney Farewell

Friday, our last day in Sydney before flying back to Melbourne.
It has been a wonderful 10 days taking in this amazing city and its environs.
Lots of pictures and some stories to tell once we're home.
I've shot enough 'footage' to keep me editing until Christmas (2018)!

To those of you who were so kind as to advise what kit I should take,
I can happily report that the XZ2 + GalaxyS6 worked well together.
I look forward to sharing some Sydney images with you soon. *ch

Re: Sydney Farewell

It suddenly occured last night that it was the last opportunity to do Sydney by night so at sundown I headed for Circular Quay where there's always a lot going on .

I'm posting this on my phone at the airport s()o processing files isn't an option. I won't get home until late tonight so probably will post some pictures on Monday.

Now for a rant; I have to say that the older I get the sillier devices become. The soap dispenser in the disabled toilet is a bewildering polyurethane box with nozzle attached. To eject some soap I tried every conceivable pressure short of jumping on it, but to no avail. This is just one of a myriad of mindless "innovations" that one has to combat in the struggle to survive in this gadget mad world. And wouldn't you think that in this age of "smart" technology that they could at least make two eftpos card readers the same?

Re: Sydney Farewell

Glad to hear you are enjoying the holiday, soap excepted. The 10 days must have flown by, not so long to go without a wash.

Re: Sydney Farewell

Firstly, I commend the Great Southern Hotel, Haymarket. It's just 500 metres from Central Station where you can travel fast to anywhere in Sydney. (It wasn't the hotel where that crazy soap dispenser was. It was actually at the airport!)

Secondly, before you leave home get an OPAL CARD (imperative) it allows you to travel anywhere you like withing a hundred kilometres from Sydney, capped at $2.50 per day regardless of how many times you use it. (Google it)

Highlights for us were the Hawkesbury Riverboat Postman Cruise, The Parramatta River Cruise, Cockatoo Island, Watsons Bay Cruise, The Rocks Saturday Market, Chinatown for top quality cheap eats, Bondi Junction and Bondi Beach. Google them all for info.

Good luck.
