I presume this will also be reflected in Finder?

Re: Apple released support for EM1 Raw files in Aperture and Iphoto

I received a software update to OS 10.9.1 the other day. I didn't notice if this was part of it but I have run the Software Update since then and there was nothing new to install.

Edit. I have just had a look at the Apple Download page and the Digital Camera Raw update is there as a separate download. I will try to run it tonight to see if it installs. It is strange that Software Update didn't find it.

Go to App Store/Updates. You should see a new update for Camera Raw compatability. I just installed it myself.

Re Finder - yes it displays the image in Finder and also the ORF files can be opened in Preview - and edited and saved in other file formats - so a third method of working with ORF on the Mac apart from Aperture, iPhoto (and also the Adobe family of products)

Yes, just installed it. I find it great that you can just press the spacebar in finder and display a preview of the raw file! Never tried Aperture, hate iPhoto. Use Lightroom.

Re: Apple released support for EM1 Raw files in Aperture and Iphoto

I tried Lightroom over the weekend as it now supported the EM1 - could not get on with it, too busy a screen, I could not see a levels adjustment panel - overall too complex in layout cf Aperture.
However as Aperture now supports the EM1, I can delete the Lightroom demo from my machine.

Re: Apple released support for EM1 Raw files in Aperture and Iphoto

I am still waiting for Capture One 7 Pro to be updated with profiles for the EM-1. As of the week-end just passed, no sign! They were quite quick with EM-5.

The longest I have known them to take was for the Fuji X1Pro which had a completely different sensor design. It took well over 6 months since the camera's release before they published it.

However when C1 Pro has it they have always nailed it first time!

Re: Apple released support for EM1 Raw files in Aperture and Iphoto

I tried to install the new Camera Raw update but it wouldn't let me. My version of iPhoto is 8.1.2 and it seems that I would have to purchase version 9.5.1 before I can install the update. Oh well that will have to wait for now.

Same with my old Macbook. It doesn't have any form of iPhoto. Later today I'll copy the raw update installer from where I saved it on my iMac and try that.

Yes, I've got it, but it's taken umbrage that I haven't got Aperture or iPhoto and won't load. That's on the Macbook. It's fine on the Immac.

C1 was updated yesterday - C7.1.6. It also added a profile for the 12-40.
