Nautical Theme

This image has been in my album here for some time, so some of you may have seen it before. It was taken in 2000 on my OM2SP with a newly acquired Zuiko 24mmm. I was then taking tentative steps into digital with a C2000 and because of a leaflet that came in the camera box I joined the Olympus Camera Club. When the first magazine came the competition subject was "Nautical", and this picture was a winner. Got me hooked on Olympus.....

Wow, the moorings shape and reflections are wonderful, you are so fortunate to have a mill pond day, doesn't happen very often.

Peter, in trying to find a password for my online Olympus account I stumbled on the details of my old Olympus Camera Club membership (membership No: 10320). A nice tranquil picture you have there.

Re: Nautical Theme

Yes this place is near to where I live and I have photographed it often but never been able to come near to matching this one.

As well as the mill pond reflections, other things in this, which I have never subsequently seen in combination are:

(a) High tide - no unsightly mud.

(b) Summer evening - light coming from the right hand side. This view is looking south so the sun, when there is any, is usually right in your eyes.

(c) The fishing boats are moored in a continuous line and pointing towards the camera - usually they are at untidy angles.

Just happened to go there for an evening run out and it all came together.

Lucky eh?

Lucky eh?[/QUOTE]

Photography is only 5% luck at any time, the other 95% practice.
Funny how the more you practice, the luckier you get
