50-200 swd

Hi All, Sent my 20-200swd off for a repair quote( believed sticky blades) but the quote has come back at 570 so really beyond economic price. So does anyone have one of these in nice condition that they might consider offering for sale before i go down the ebay route. I am gutted as its my walkabout lens.
Thanks Jo

Usually very good on returns if you're not happy.

Re: 50-200 swd

That seems an expensive quote, what were they going to do? You could try Luton cameras they have done repairs for me in the past. Great service and keen price.

Re: 50-200 swd

I have a 50-200 SWD with a seized SSWD AD motor; wondering if it's worth sending to Olympus now!

I also suggested to Jo that Luton Cameras would be well worth a try, though I have heard that they are finding spares increasingly difficult to obtain.

Re: 50-200 swd

Thank you everyone for you comments and offers. I am happy to say a good friend has let me have their lens so now sorted. Luton cameras have said that spares are hard to get so the price would prob be about the same.

Re: 50-200 swd

The earlier non-SWD version and often available at cheaper used prices and has slightly wider apertures at some intermediate focal lengths.
