Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

I am wanting an adapter for my old OM lenses for my EM-1. The MF-2 seems to be rare to non-existent and historically was really expensive.

Any recommendations for third-party alternatives?

I have seen Fotodiox and K&F Concept mentioned, but the brands mean nothing to me.

I also found this thread from 2012:

Using insulation tape to pad-out the adapter doesn't inspire confidence.

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

SRB Photographic are a good bet for all sorts of stuff like this:

https://www.srb-photographic.co.uk/

They list an OM lens to Micro-4/3 body adapter for 30 quid:

Their stuff isn't flashy but generally well made.

Thanks for the link. Looks like it is out of stock. I'll contact them.

Have you used some of their other stuff?

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

I use a OM-EF adapter stacked on a range of EF-MFT adapters (my most used being a helicoid version that goes from infinity focus to ~1cm added extension, but there's also a focal reducer & a tilt model).
All were relatively easy to source from e-bay & not excessively expensive. Especially as the EF-MFT adapters also get used for M42, PK etc.
I wouldn't recommend the Fotga tilt adapter but the remainder are definitely worth it!

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

fitheach - yes I have used some of their adapters and other bits & bobs. I had a brief dabble with astro stuff a while back and used a combination of their adapters to fit 4/3 bodies onto a telescope. The results were embarrassingly awful, but that was not in any way the fault of the SRB bits!

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

I just got a cheap one on eBay. Does what I want for the odd times that I use my old OM lenses.

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

I've used SRB for years for odds and sods like that and they're very reliable. I got an OM-FT adaptor from them which has been fine, although at the time I think they mentioned that rather than manufacturing themselves, they sourced them from China and then carefully checked them before despatch.

Sorry as a Newbie ( and female ) if I seem to be interfering, but I was given some old Olympus lenses with my omd. I also have researched OM adaptors and they are available on Ebay from 4.99 to around 15 some are UK stock too. Seems a far better option than paying 30 from SRB, especially if they also source theirs from China. Spose it depends how much you are going to use it and if the ones SRB have are 2-6 x the quality ?

Just trying to help

Rebecca

I've bought some stuff from China that was a superb, but I've also bought items that were useless. I can never tell in advance which type they will be and I usually have to wait three weeks to find out.

Most camera equipment gets made in China but the reputable brands get their stuff made to superior specifications. It wouldn't surprise me if the Olympus MF-2, for example, was made in China. So far I've always trusted Olympus for quality and not been disappointed.

If some people have used the SRB equipment and found it good that gives me some reassurance.

Re: Adapter for OM lenses on OM-D camera

Once the OM lens adapter is sorted, consider adapting the lens by reversing the objective element.

Not a recommendation but there is one on Ebay now for 15.95.
