Goodwood Revival 2011

Finally got around to looking at my photos from this years Goodwood Revival. I came awaying thinking I didn't take that many, when I came to download from the memory card I found I had 160 to trawl through . I will have to do this in stages as I can only do the sorting of the wheat from the chaff and tweaking in short sessions before I lose the will to carry on. Don't worry I will try not overload you with too much chaff.

First batch is racing action. Sadly only from one race, the St. Mary's Trophy, as I rather stupidly didn't have my camera with me for the others. All bar one have been cropped to various degrees to remove distractions.

1. The overall winner being chased by a Mini

2. My brother in his Isuzu Bellett

3. Three Alphas having it out

4. My brother again

6. And yes, you guessed it, it's my brother again

This last is my favourite as it is full frame with no cropping and I was dead chuffed to get the whole car in and not the usual assortment of front or rear wings. However I am generally a bit disappointed with these as they have come out a bit blurred, except for the wheels which probably aren't burred enough. I think that my panning was out so plenty of room for improvement there. I was also a bit gutted that I didn't have enough DoF on the first one as the mini is out of focus. I have to admit I hadn't thought it would be an issue. Next time I will reduce the aperture and slow the shutter speed a tad.

It would be good to see photos from other members who may have been there this year.

As ever any comments, pointers, advice etc will be greatly appreciated.

Next up will be the Spitfires, maybe even all ten of them (in one photo you'll be glad to hear not individually).

Nice set, some good panning there, like the Ferrari bread van.
